 | Pictured on the right is Adeline Marilla Jackson Wingo, Jan's maternal great grandmother. On the left is "Addie's" daughter, Alice Logan Wingo, Jan's great aunt. The year was 1918. Alice was teacher of literature and Dean Emeritus of the Martha Berry School for Girls, The Berry Schools, Mount Berry, Georgia. Addie is a central character in the recollection that follows, written by Alice in 1937. A typed copy was retrieved from Jan's mother's home in Winnsboro, South Carolina.
